Demo: Adaptive SOM

[Start Adaptive SOM demo]

 
 Introduction  
An adaptive 2-D Kohonen-based Self-organizing Map has been developed for use with Alta Vista searching. This SOM allows user customization of the level of categorization the tool provides.

 
 Instruction  

Perform a search using appropriate Alta Vista syntax. A Java-based SOM will be displayed. Select Modify to see drop down menu options. You may choose to see more or fewer categories, to see more general or specific categories, or to exclude specific terms from categorization. Clicking submit will redraw the map.
